Tahera Begum resident of Samatha Colony, Shaikpet was in debt after marriage of her fourth daughter. She used to visit a local hospital in Golconda where she was offered a job by a Doctor to work as a housemaid in Kuwait with a salary of Rs/ 25,000. She was told that she has to look after an Old Couple only. As she was in debt
she accepted the offer and went to Kuwait on 3rd Feb 2020. But after reaching Kuwait she found that she had to work for a large family. She got stuck up in lockdown. After lockdown she wanted to return but her Kafeel asked him to pay 2.0 lakhs to give her release. The Kafeel said that he had paid 2.0 lakhs and bought
her with an agreement to work for 3 years. Due to work pressure she fell ill. Her daughter Taranum Begum approached the local Doctor who had sent her and requested number of times to bring back her mother but there was no response.Taranum Begum met Amjed Ullah Khan (Spokesman) MBT and requested him to
bring back her mother. Mr Khan forwarded the Tahera Begum case to Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs Govt of India, The Indian Embassy in Kuwait and Sri K T Rama Rao Minister for MA&UD and NRI Dept Govt of Telangana and requested them to rescue Tahera Begum as soon as possible. The Indian
Embassy in Kuwait responded to the request and assured of help and spoke to her Kafeel.Meanwhile Taranum Begum daughter of Tahera Begum approached Inspector of Police Golconda and requested him for help in bringing back her mother. The Inspector of Police Golconda called the Doctor to the police station and
warned him to solve this issue within a week. After pressure from local police and conservative pursuing by Indian Embassy in Kuwait her Kafeel not only released her but gave her the entire 12 months salary also. After she reached Hyderabad she visited Golconda PS and thanked the Inspector of Police and entire staff for
rescuing her and she also visited MBT Office in Chanchalguda and thanked Amjed Ullah Khan for taking up her issue with Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassy in Kuwait.
